Fall Semester Theatre Audition Workshop: Mastering the Eras of Broadway

Auditioning is a skill—and this semester will help you become a smart auditioner.

Step into the spotlight this fall with HSTEP's  Musical Theatre Audition Workshop, designed to equip students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to excel in musical theatre auditions.

Highlights:

Broadway's Four Eras:

Learn all about the four eras, from the old-school classics to today's hottest hits.

​

Spotlight on the Greats:

Study the most influential composers, lyricists, and choreographers form each era - Rodgers and Hammerstein, Bob Fosse, Stephen Sondheim, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and more.

​

Building a Smart Audition Plan:

Develop a set of audition songs keyed to each era, and discover how to choose material which highlights your strengths.

​

Mock Auditions with Feedback:

Each student will participate in four mock auditions - one for each era - picking a show and preparing as if for a professional production, with constructive feedback after each round.

​

Whether you’re just starting out or already know your way around a stage, this workshop will help you stand out where it matters most—the audition room!

​

The fall semester is open to home school students ages 8 to 18, and will meet on Tuesdays from 12 to 2:00 at the Manchester Arts Center, 128 E. Main St.

​

Enrollment is limited. Auditions for a spot in the workshop will be on September 2, 2025.

Ages 8 to 12 - 10AM to 12 noon

Ages 12 to 18 - 1PM to 3PM
